A gun scare in central Nelson is over.
Roadblocks are being taken down and schools reopened after police responded to reports of a firearm being waved during a fight.
Tasman Police spokeswoman Barbara Dunn said three men were "assisting" police.
Officers were sent to Brunner St where neighbours reported seeing four or five Armed Offenders Squad officers and two police dogs storm into a home.
Brunner St, Waimea Rd and Tukuka St were cordoned off after 10am.
