Questions have been raised over the CV of a Nelson conductor in jail awaiting sentencing next month for GST fraud.
David Lindup, 30, who conducted the Nelson Symphony Orchestra, claimed to have played professionally with at least three British orchestras, but the Nelson Mail says two have no record of him.
His website biography said he studied at Oxford and performed professionally with several orchestras, including the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra.
However, neither the Academy of St Martin in the Fields nor the BBC orchestra had any record of his playing with them.
