KEY POINTS:
Two occupants were dragged from a burning Wellington house this morning by a neighbour who spotted smoke coming out of a door.
A Wellington Fire Service spokesman said the alarm was raised at 11am but by the time firefighters arrived at the Miramar home the neighbour, who had tried unsuccessfully to rouse the occupants, had already entered the property and pulled them clear.
One occupant was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation and burns.
Firefighters quickly brought the fire under control.
