Auckland police negotiators have talked down a man who climbed up a construction crane near the city centre this morning and refused to move.
The man climbed to the sixth-floor platform of the crane in Park Rd, Grafton, near Auckland Hospital about 6am today.
Inspector Turepu Keenan, from Police Northern Communications Centre, said police negotiators climbed the crane and about four hours later the man climbed down with police and was taken away for assessment.
No one was hurt and it was not known what troubled the man or why he had climbed the crane.
