KEY POINTS:
The wait is finally over for students who sat NCEA exams last year.
Results have been posted out to 136,000 secondary school students and most should start arriving in letterboxes around the country today.
NZQA deputy chief executive of qualifications Bali Haque says it is the earliest they have ever been able to get the results out.
It took 1,920 markers to mark 1.9 million papers before Christmas, despite having a week less time to do the work than in previous years.
Mr Haque expects 85 per cent of students have received their notices today. Mr Haque says the rest will arrive over the next couple of days, particularly in the rural areas.
Results are also available online this afternoon.
