A sigh of relief will be heard from students around New Zealand as NCEA and scholarship exams come to an end today.
But it is only the beginning for markers tackling the huge pile of exam papers.
So far, 18.6 per cent, or 338,235, of NCEA and NZ scholarship answer booklets and portfolios have been marked by 2020 markers nationwide.
The rest of the papers will be marked by Christmas, with results available to students in January.
The New Zealand Qualification Authority said that the exams had run smoothly with only a minor number of issues being raised.
These included one exam centre having pages missing from NCEA level 2 geography booklets.
For the first time students will be able to access their results online a few days before the results are posted in the mail.
Answer booklets will be mailed to students from mid January onwards.
