The Navy is using sonar equipment to try to find a man who is missing in the upper Waitemata Harbour.
A search is taking place around Island Bay at Birkenhead after the man fell off a charter boat on Saturday night.
The Police dive squad is also in the water and search and rescue volunteers are scouring land in the area.
