Two of the Navy's newest ships will make their first foray south of New Zealand shortly when they head to Campbell Island to drop off research parties.
The Navy's two 85m offshore patrol vessels, HMNZS Otago and HMNZS Wellington, will take botanists, archaeologists and limnologists (fresh-water experts) to the predator-free island and pick up another team which has been there for a week, said the Department of Conservation.
