Monika Vadai knows how stressful motherhood can be.
The 36-year-old had baby Jessica three years ago and had to cope with the stress of raising her on her own. Her family were in Hungary and her husband's parents moved to Australia.
Unlike many new mums, Vadai turned to a herbalist for help. Now, through her Mother and Child natural health clinic, she helps other women who use alcohol to deal with stress.
"Definitely there is regular drinking in quite a few mums. Red wine is quite the usual thing, there's something soothing about it.
"The problem is it's not helping them in the long run, it's really just a short relief."
Vadai helps other mums move away from the bottle and into more natural ways of dealing with stress.
She believes the best treatments are natural solutions such as herbal tea, yoga and massage.
