KEY POINTS:
National is to announce its party list rankings on Sunday.
Party president Judy Kirk will make the announcement at National Party headquarters in Wellington.
The party has 67 candidates, 43 of whom are sitting MPs. Many of them attended the party's recent conference to meet delegates.
National has already announced two newcomers as list candidates - former party campaign and general manager Steven Joyce and Korean-born television broadcaster Melissa Lee.
The pair have received two of just five list only spots, meaning they are likely to be catapulted above some of the party's sitting MPs in the final rankings.
National has 48 sitting MPs, but five are retiring at the election. They are Brian Connell (Rakaia), Bob Clarkson (Tauranga) and list MPs Katherine Rich, Clem Simich and Mark Blumsky.
Rumours have in the past swirled around possible candidates. They included former Labour MP John Tamihere, high-profile lawyer Judith Ablett-Kerr QC and former All Black Michael Jones.
