Labour has criticised National for not releasing detailed costings of its policy programme, but National says its promise to stick to a spending cap of $900 million a year on new policies should satisfy the public.
Although National has released individual costs of many programmes, it has not provided any detail on what would be spent on each item and when.
National plans to pay for its policies, ranging from putting more police on the streets through to some tax cuts, using money mainly tagged for the New Zealand Superannuation fund.
