Simon Bridges is returning to his old school Rutherford College in Te Atatu this morning for his first big "values" speech as National Party leader.
Law and order is expected to be a major theme in a speech to senior students at the college.
Bridges studied law at Auckland and Oxford universities and went to become a Crown prosecutor in Tauranga before first being elected to Parliament in 2008.
He may touch on some of the cases he was involved with as a prosecutor.
Bridges was the youngest of six children and his father was a Baptist minister in a church not from the school.
He was elected National leader in February after former Prime Minister and leader Bill English decided to retire from politics.
Bridges is also speaking at a business conference in Taranaki this afternoon where the Government's decision to ban all offshore oil and gas exploration is likely to be a major topic.
As the crowd chanted, Seymour walked back into the Beehive with his MPs.
