Kyle Chapman has resigned as leader of the extreme right National Front movement after his son was shunned at kindergarten.
"I think it's not fair," Mr Chapman said. "Children shouldn't have to feel the impact of that."
Mr Chapman confessed to a series of arsons in Invercargill between 1987 and 1992, including the fire-bombing of a marae.
