Long time party loyalist Simon O'Connor has been selected as National's candidate in the safe Tamaki seat to replace the ailing Allan Peachey.
Mr O'Connor beat former United Future president Denise Krum in a fourth round of voting at the selection meeting late Wednesday evening.
