National announces Rodney candidates

The National Party has selected five candidates seeking nomination to stand in Rodney.

The seat is held by National MP and Speaker of the House Lockwood Smith, who has announced he is retiring as an electorate MP at the November election.

Rodney electorate chairman Cehill Pienaar said John Kirikiri, Mark Mitchell, Christopher Penk, Brent Robinson and Scott Simpson would proceed to the final selection, with local party delegates voting on March 2.
