A US satellite has captured an image of the Earth on the twelfth hour of the twelfth day of the twelfth month of 2012.
The National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration's GOES-15 satellite took the image of the Pacific Ocean at 1200 UTC (Universal Time Coordinate), said Dennis Chesters, project scientist of NASA's GOES Project at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where the image was created.
New Zealand can be seen in the bottom left of the image, while newborn Tropical Storm Evan can be seen to the north, sitting about 145 nautical miles (268km) west of Pago Pago, American Samoa.
