A man appeared in court this afternoon charged with the abduction and sexual violation of a Napier woman.
Trevor Eagle, of Napier, who was only in the dock for 23 seconds, faced a total of 10 charges.
He is accused of six charges of sexual violation, one of rape, one of aggravated burglary, one of indecent assault and one of abduction involving the 24-year-old woman.
He previously appeared in Whakatane District Court charged with unlawfully taking the woman's Honda Accord vehicle.
The 24-year-old woman was abducted from her Tamatea, Napier, home at knifepoint early on Tuesday.
She was driven in her own car to Mohaka Forest, off the Napier-Taupo highway, where she was repeatedly sexual violated.
The woman managed to escape that night at around 9pm.
Barely clothed she hid in the bush for about eight hours before walking barefoot for nearly three hours then flagging down a logging truck.
She was driven to a nearby home where police were called.
Eagle was remanded in custody to reappear in court on January 25.
