Napier police investigate suspected car arson

Police are investigating a suspected arson in Napier after a car parked in a driveway was set alight overnight.

The fire happened in the suburb of Onekawa early this morning, and fire service investigators carried out an examination today.

The weekend was "extremely busy", with police making 30 arrests over offences ranging from breach of the liquor ban to serious assault, Senior Sergeant Sarah Stewart said.
