A man is in hospital after being attacked with a skateboard in Napier early yesterday morning.
Police said two men assaulted a third in the middle of the road about 4.30am opposite the Raffles St entrance to the Pak'n Save carpark.
One of the attackers hit the victim over the
head with a skateboard multiple times.
He fell to the ground unconscious.
The attackers stole the man's mobile phone and bank cards before running off towards Munro St.
The victim suffered serious lacerations to his head and remains in hospital in a stable condition.
