Name suppression has been lifted on one of two people alleged to have been involved in the abduction of a man from his Hastings home in April .
An 18-year-old Hastings man's name continues to be suppressed, but co-accused, Sharon Ann Tonkin, 38, of Hastings, had her name suppression lifted yesterday when she appeared in Hastings District Court.
The pair are jointly charged with kidnapping, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, using a semi-automatic shotgun in the commission of a crime and aggravated wounding.
The charges were laid following an incident on April 13 where a woman and a balaclava-clad man allegedly kidnapped a 36-year-old man, using a pump-action shotgun and a knife.
He was stabbed during a struggle in which a shot was fired. No injuries were caused by the shotgun blast.
It is alleged the man was bound with tape but later managed to escape while being driven towards Taihape.
Judge Christopher Field granted name suppression for the accused man while a psychiatric report was undertaken.
Tonkin was due to re-appear in court today, while her co-accused has been remanded until June 14.
