Name suppression has been lifted for a 20-year-old Rotorua man charged with the murder of Polish man Roman Skorek.
Simon Meka Herewini, unemployed, appeared before Judge Lindsay Moore in the Rotorua District Court today charged with murdering Mr Skorek at Kuirau Park on January 23.
Mr Skorek, 64, was found dead by members of the public early on Tuesday last week in Kuirau Park.
Herewini is represented by Harry Edward who made no application for bail.
Judge Moore remanded Herewini in custody to appear in court again later this month when his co-accused, 21-year-old Rotorua baker Rawiri James Samuel, is also due to appear.
