A New Zealand Olympian accused of sex and violence offences that include raping his wife had his name suppression extended today until his next court appearance.
The sportsman, whose age and occupation also cannot be revealed, was remanded on bail for a post-committal hearing in Auckland District Court on December 10.
Judge Eddie Paul said defence counsel would have to be prepared to argue at that hearing why the interim order should continue beyond that date.
The defendant faces 13 charges, including four of rape, arising from alleged incidents last year.
Among other allegations are unlawful sexual connection, abduction for sex, threatening to kill and assault with intent to injure.
