The name of a French tourist, who was one of eight people killed in one of the country's worst car accidents last week, has still not been released.
The man has been identified, but police were having difficulty contacting his next of kin, Morrinsville police said in a statement today.
A mini-van carrying eight tourists crashed into a truck last Wednesday, killing all except one passenger in the van, and the truck driver.
Survivor Ahalya Thirumuthy, 18, from India, was tonight still in a critical condition on life support in Waikato Hospital.
