A nail gun death has led to a coroner recommending that use of the guns be reconsidered.
At an inquest in Queenstown Alan Macalister formally adopted recommendations in an Occupational Safety and Health report into the death, one of which called for a review into whether Ramset nail guns were suitable to be used on construction sites.
Mr Macalister found Robert John Otto, 36, from Cromwell, died when he was struck in the head by a nail from a gun fired by a fellow worker on November 1 last year.
He ruled it was death by misadventure.
