Police want to talk to a mystery blonde woman who dropped a man off at hospital with a gunshot wound in west Auckland today.
A 40-year-old man was left at Waitakere Hospital suffering from a wound believed to have been caused by a shotgun about 1pm today.
He was brought in by a woman driving a late model, silver two-door BMW, who then drove off.
"We would like to know if she knows anything about how he got his injuries, and why she didn't stay after she dropped him off," Sergeant Eugene Pickett of Waitakere Police told NZPA.
The woman was a female caucasian aged in her early 20s. Police said she was tall, of slim build and with straight blonde hair tied in a ponytail.
She was wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt and pink sweater. Anyone with information about her is asked to call police.
Mr Pickett said the man was undergoing surgery this afternoon but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
