The wreckage of the trawler Kotuku, which sank off Bluff just over a week ago, killing six people, will be salvaged today, weather permitting.
The 15m vessel with nine people on board sank about 2.30pm on May 13 after capsizing near Stewart Island during a muttonbirding trip.
Chief accident investigator Captain John Mockett said divers yesterday decided that the boat could be salvaged.
An inquiry is under way into the tragedy.
