Fiji's former land force commander, Colonel Jone Baledrokadroka, faces a charge of mutiny when he returns from New Zealand.
A Fiji military spokesman, Captain Neumi Leweni, told a news website, fijivillage.com, that it was not yet known why Colonel Baledrokadroka was in New Zealand or when he would return home. Three other senior officers face the same charge.
Colonel Baledrokadroka and other officers allegedly asked the Fiji military commander, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, to step down from his post on January 16.
