Name suppression has been lifted for an Upper Hutt man jailed after sending hate mail to Wellington Muslims.
An appeal to keep Craig Dalton Lindsay's identity a secret has been thrown out.
The 53-year-old is serving a six month jail term after admitting sending 30 abusive letters, including some containing pork products.
His lawyer argued there was a possible risk to the man's safety if his name was published.
However the Crown said it does not support continued suppression, arguing that the local Islamic community has publicly forgiven the man.
