A man shot by police officers after he pointed an imitation gun at them has today admitted firearms charges.
Murray James Allan, 24, suffered minor injuries after he pulled a blank firing pistol at constables who approached a car he was in about 2am in the Christchurch suburb of Woolston on February 4.
When Allan, of the Parklands area of the city, first appeared at the Christchurch District Court, a bandage covered his forehead above his left eye.
Today, he admitted charges of assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of an imitation firearm, namely a blank firing pistol, and possession of 9mm ammunition. He also pleaded guilty to three charges of dishonestly using documents, namely stolen cheques.
He was remanded in custody for sentencing on August 10.
