KEY POINTS:
South Auckland youth gang member Marlan Tuporo was found guilty of the murder of a rival's father after a trial in the High Court at Auckland yesterday.
Tuporo was found guilty by a jury of murdering Iulio Naea in the South Auckland suburb of Flat Bush on October 23, 2005.
The Crown alleged Tuporo, a member of the PDBs (Penion Dosina Boys) killed Mr Naea in revenge for an earlier attack committed by his son, George Naea, a member of the JCBs (Juvenile Crip Boys).
Tuporo used a defence of "provocation", admitting killing Mr Naea but saying it was manslaughter rather than murder.
The hearing was a retrial, after a jury last year failed to agree on a verdict.
