Police are seeking a man in a black sports car in the wake of a fatal shooting in South Auckland last night.
Emergency services were called to an address in Papatoetoe at 12.20am, where they found the 26-year-old victim had been shot three times. He died several hours later.
Detective Inspector John Timms said he did not believe the attack was random, and his staff were looking for a man aged in his 30s and driving a black sports car.
Investigators are today at site of the shooting.
Meanwhile, a man is in Middlemore Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg after an altercation at a Mangere address around 10pm.
Police say his injuries are not life threatening, and no arrests have been made.
In Papakura, a man has serious head injuries after an assault at 2am. He is in hospital in a serious condition.
