Murder charges have now been laid against two men accused of assaulting a Lower Hutt father-of-two who was attacked in his car.
Aaron Hadfield, 27, died after he was stabbed in Stokes Valley, just a few kilometres from his home, on January 26.
Two men were charged with assault after they handed themselves in to police.
The men, aged 20 and 22, had their charges upgraded to murder in the Lower Hutt District Court this morning.
Both men have interim name suppression.
