A 22-year-old man has been charged with the murder of businessman Stephen Hailwood, who died after receiving injuries at a bar following Saturday's All Blacks-Wallabies test.
Detective Sergeant Murray Porter said the arrest was made late last night following inquiries into an altercation outside The Coach Bar, part of the Cobb and Co complex, in Upper Hutt on Saturday night.
Mr Hailwood, 49, died in Hutt Hospital on Sunday morning.
The 22-year-old man was due to appear in the Upper Hutt District Court at 10am today.
