The man acquitted of the murder of Katherine Sheffield is back in police custody.
Noel Rogers was found not guilty on Friday night of killing the Northland woman.
But he has once again been arrested after an alleged assault yesterday morning.
Police spokesman John Fraser says officers were called to a domestic dispute in Glendowie in Auckland, where Rogers had allegedly hit two other men and a woman.
He says Rogers allegedly spat blood at officers when they arrived at the scene.
He will appear in the Auckland District Court tomorrow.
