A woman who allegedly stabbed Preva Shortland at a party in south Auckland last month can now be named.
Elizabeth Tauariki, 32, was charged with murder following Ms Shortland's death at the party in Glenveagh Park Drive, Manurewa shortly after midnight on July 11.
She appeared in Manukau District Court yesterday, where name suppression was extended to 4pm today so she could tell family members.
About 50 supporters of Ms Shortland were present at yesterday's court appearance.
One supporter yelled "f*****g b**** as Tauariki was led away to the cells at the end of her appearance.
She will reappear in court next month.
