The man accused of murder after police found a body and an axe has been further remanded in custody.
Police found the body of Terrance Carl Finch, 55, after they were called to a home in the Auckland suburb of Glenn Innes in April.
Preston Cole Rameka made a brief appearance at the Auckland district court this morning.
Rameka has undergone psychiatric assessment and will face a depositions hearing in September.
His lawyer Jonathan Down told the court his client was in a "fragile state" but he was fit to stand trial.
