Name suppression has been lifted for the man charged in relation to the discovery of bones in an Auckland house.
James Grant Cooper, 24, was initially charged with interfering with remains, but has now been charged with murder and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Cooper appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning, where his lawyer did not pursue further name suppression.
The human remains were found in a garage at a Barrack Rd, Mt Wellington property by contractors doing demolition work.
After a major police effort it was confirmed earlier this month that the remains were those of Javed Frazer Mills, 25, who police believe died in 2009 after an "altercation''.
