A man accused of killing a woman in her Auckland home has appeared in court with his arms heavily bandaged.
The 63-year-old appeared in Auckland District Court this afternoon charged with the murder of 47-year-old Bimla Wati.
He was given name suppression by Judge Heather Simpson until his next appearance at the High Court in Auckland in three weeks, so family could inform other relatives.
No plea was entered and no bail application was made.
The court heard he would be taken back to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
