The mother of an eight month old Hamilton boy who died following head injuries received at home has released a statement speaking of the devastation over the baby's death.
"He was a much loved son, brother and nephew and his death has left a big hole in our lives," the mother said, in a statement released by police early this morning.
"We are grateful for all the support we have received. We are struggling to come to terms with our loss and request that we are left to grieve in private."
The baby was injured on June 15 and died the following day.
A 34-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with the baby's murder.
