The mother of one of the men charged with the brutal bashings of two couples on Auckland's North Shore in January is charged with trying to cover her son's tracks.
Kiriana Taiapa, 39, appeared in North Shore District Court charged with being an accessory after the fact. Police allege she organised for a third party to dispose of weapons that may have been used in the attacks.
Her son Ruamoko Taiapa, 19, is charged with four counts of grievous bodily harm and four counts of aggravated robbery.
Carpenter Paul Wilson, 18, and builder Harlem Haunui Kirton, 18, face similar charges.
Clinton John McGinty, 18, faces one charge of injuring with intent and a 16-year-old boy is facing related charges in the Youth Court.
The men are accused of two attacks on Auckland's North Shore in the early hours of January 14. Denis Khotchenko, 25, and his girlfriend Valeriya Nesterova, 20, were set upon at Milford beach, and Oskar Carroll, 25, and Erika Rancourt, 21, were attacked three hours later on Lake Rd, Takapuna.
