An Auckland mother has been accused of having a sexual affair with the best friend of her 14-year-old son - and allegedly continued the liaison even after the upset son confronted her about it.
The 39-year-old woman is alleged to have had sex with the 15-year-old boy 10 times in a month.
Court documents allege on each occasion the pair had sex, she plied him with "copious" amounts of alcohol, mainly spirits such as tequila and rum. She has been arrested and charged with unlawful sexual connection with a young person. She cannot be named for legal reasons.
The affair began in early December when the boy went to see his mate, who wasn't at home, but was invited in and given about four glasses of wine.
The documents allege the drunk teenager "dared" the woman to "try it on" with him. The woman accepted his invitation and began kissing him, then led him into her bedroom, where they had sex.
The mother will next appear in court in May. She declined to comment when the Weekend Herald approached her yesterday.
On one occasion, she is alleged to have supplied the boy with large amounts of tequila and rum, which he drank over two hours before they had sex. He later told police he didn't wake up until 4pm the next day.
Police allege the boy would sleep the night in her bed. They would have sex even when there were other adults in the house and, on one occasion, when the woman's son and his friends were in the room next door.
The day after that incident, he was confronted by three of the friends, who heard them having sex. Another time, the woman's brother and his toddler stayed the night in the house but she still "blatantly" engaged in sex with the boy, it is alleged.
The last sexual encounter between them occurred early last month. The woman's distraught son confronted her about the relationship and dented a wall in frustration.
The court documents said: "Despite this occurring that night, the defendant again undertook sexual intercourse with [name suppressed] in her bed, once her son had gone to sleep."
