A young mother who allegedly abandoned her son and a baby in a car while she partied at a house nearby had her name suppression continued when she appeared in Manukau District Court today.
The 26-year-old woman faced two charges of abandoning the five-year-old boy and a three-week-old baby after police were called by people in Wiri, south Auckland.
She was today remanded on bail for a case review on July 27.
Police alleged the children were sleeping in a car parked in a driveway while the mother partied at a house about 50 metres away.
Police said the woman was "extremely intoxicated" when found and arrested.
