A former Malaysian defence attaché has pleaded not guilty to sex and assault charges relating to a Wellington woman.
Muhammad Rizalman bin Ismail, 38, appeared in front of a registrar at the Wellington District Court this morning.
His lawyer Dr Donald Stevens told reporters after the brief appearance his client had elected trial by jury.
He has been charged with burglary and assault with intent to commit sexual violation.
