Wairarapa College were backing the Black Caps on Friday while also raising donations for Vanuatu, devastated by Cyclone Pam.
The college held a mufti day and raised more than $1000.
In a nod to the Black Caps' World Cup final match yesterday, the students were encouraged to wear black and the sombre colours that dotted the college were testimony to their support.
Assistant principal Aaron Perkins said the mufti day was a chance to aid a worthy cause close to home and to show support for the Black Caps.
Year 9 Brooke Robertson donated $50 because she felt so strongly for the people of Vanuatu.
