A spill of mud and stones on Auckland's Southern Motorway caused considerable delays.
The incident happened southbound under the bridge at the East Tamaki interchange.
The spill was cleared up after 2pm.
Police earlier said traffic may be diverted off the motorway at the East Tamaki off-ramp and be allowed to re-enter the motorway via the on-ramp to allow the scene to be cleared.
