A man accused of killing a woman in their Auckland home can now be named.
Jiwan Ram, 63, appeared in the High Court at Auckland this morning charged with the murder of 47-year-old Bimla Wati.
He was granted name suppression at his first appearance in Auckland District Court, so family could inform other relatives, but that lapsed today.
Defence lawyer Hugh Leabourn entered a not guilty plea on behalf of Ram and indicated there would be a bail application in the future.
That would be opposed by the Crown, the court was told.
