Big Day Out fans are being told not to panic over the sale of the Mt Smart Supertop, as the iconic Boiler Room will still be at the music festival next year.
The massive tent has been used for many major concerts and has also hosted thousands of sweaty revellers at Auckland's Big Day Out each year. It has been sold at auction for just $10, after the owner's land hire agreement with the Auckland Regional Council came to an end.
Big Day Out promoter Campbell Smith says a new Boiler Room will be at the Big Day Out in 2011.
"The Boiler Room's a very important part of the Big Day Out, there's no way we're going into a Big Day Out without a Boiler Room. We've got options in front of us, we've just got to look through them and see what makes the most sense."
