KEY POINTS:
MP David Benson-Pope will this morning fight for the right to stand again for Labour in the Dunedin South seat, a battle which will almost complete the party's candidate selection process.
Communications specialist and New Zealand Council member Clare Curran is regarded as the favourite of two challengers to oust the disgraced former Cabinet minister as part of the party's drive for renewal, though it could be a close call.
All Labour candidates in the Auckland and northern region have been decided.
Party president Mike Williams said that in some selections the party had "jumped a generation" to select candidates in their 20s as part of the renewal process.
"Just Left" blogger Jordan Carter will stand in Hunua against National's Paul Hutchison; the party's women's vice-president, Kate Sutton, will stand in Epsom against sitting MP and Act leader Rodney Hide.
