Finance Minister Bill English was among hundreds of passengers whose flights were disrupted by strong winds in Wellington last night.
Five regional flights and at least three services between main centres were cancelled due to the weather yesterday.
Mr English had been due to appear on TV3's The Nation this morning, but his flight was among those cancelled due to disruptions at Wellington Airport.
Transport Minister Gerry Brownlee would appear on The Nation in his place.
An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said five regional services to and from Wellington last night were cancelled, and two services diverted to Palmerston North, due to high winds.
