A film version of Kiwi classic Under the Mountain is back on track after a funding collapse.
More than 40 per cent of the cash promised by British company Capitol Films was pulled on the eve of filming, leaving the movie's future hanging in the balance.
Principal photography on the adaptation of the Maurice Gee novel has been rescheduled and will begin in eight days.
Footprint Films, 120 dB Films and Ally Media Finance all offered funds after filming was suspended on April 28.
They added to funds previously pledged by New Zealand on Air, the New Zealand Film Commission and TVNZ.
Actor Sam Neill will still play kindly Mr Jones, while Oliver Driver will be the evil Mr Wilberforce.
Filming will take place at locations around Auckland, including Rangitoto Island, and is expected to finish in early October.
Black Sheep director Jonathan King will direct and special effects will be produced by Weta Workshop's Richard Taylor, who won an Oscar for his work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
